iCal calendar sync (import & export)

Import external .ics feeds to block unit availability, and export Zyelra calendars to Google, Apple, or Outlook.

What this connection does

Zyelra supports iCal import and iCal export so you can use Zyelra as an availability hub across calendars.

  • Import — connect an external .ics feed to a unit; Zyelra creates external availability blocks.
  • Export — create a private subscription URL for Google, Apple, or Outlook to read Zyelra events.

Import an external calendar

  1. Step 1In Zyelra

    Open External calendars

Go to Calendar → External calendars. You need permission to manage blocks.

  2. Step 2In Zyelra

    Add calendar

Give the connection a name (for example Airbnb Calendar), choose the property and unit, and paste the private .ics / iCal URL from the other system.

  3. Step 3In Zyelra

    Sync

Zyelra fetches the feed, creates unavailable periods for that unit, and refreshes on a schedule. Use Sync now anytime.

  • Imported events block availability for stays and quotes.
  • They appear on the calendar as External calendar — Unavailable.
  • Disconnecting a feed removes its imported unavailable periods.
  • Recurring RRULE masters are skipped in V1; use expanded feeds when possible.
  • Zyelra’s own exported UIDs are ignored on import to reduce sync loops.

Export (calendar subscriptions)

  1. Step 1In Zyelra

    Open Calendar subscriptions

Go to Calendar → Calendar subscriptions.

  2. Step 2In Zyelra

    Create a calendar link

Choose the scope (unit, property, or agency) and create the feed. Copy the private URL when shown — the raw token is only available at create/regenerate time.

  3. Step 3In provider

Subscribe in Google / Apple / Outlook

In your calendar app, choose Add calendar from URL / New Calendar Subscription / Internet calendar, then paste the Zyelra feed URL.

GET {your Zyelra API base URL}/api/v1/calendar/ical/{token}

Security

  • Treat export subscription URLs like passwords — revoke if leaked.
  • Import feed URLs are stored securely and are not shown in the connection list.
  • Feeds use privacy-safe summaries (no guest contact details, payments, or internal notes).

Verify

  1. External calendars appear under Calendar → External calendars with Healthy status after a successful sync.
  2. Imported unavailable periods show on the unit calendar and block new stays.
  3. Export subscriptions appear under Calendar → Calendar subscriptions.

Troubleshooting

  • Import sync error — confirm the feed URL is reachable and returns valid iCalendar content. Existing imported availability is kept until a successful sync.
  • Stale status — the calendar has not synced successfully recently; availability may be out of date. Use Sync now.
  • Empty import — a valid empty calendar clears previous imported blocks; a failed fetch does not.
  • Expecting OTA booking sync — use Booking Channels, not iCal.
