Managed Email

Send email through Zyelra’s platform-managed delivery. Agencies do not create or paste Resend API keys.

What this connection does

Managed Email lets your agency send transactional and operational email from Zyelra without running your own mail server. Delivery uses Zyelra’s platform email provider (Resend under the hood).

  • Outbound email from Zyelra (messages, templates, automations).
  • Sending-domain verification via DNS records Zyelra fetches for you.
  • Delivery and bounce events via a platform-operated webhook — agencies do not configure Resend webhooks.

Before you start

  • A domain you control (for example mail.youragency.com or youragency.com).
  • Access to that domain’s DNS provider (Cloudflare, Route 53, registrar DNS, etc.).
  • Permission to manage Settings → Messaging & Delivery in Zyelra.

Connect Managed Email

  1. Step 1In Zyelra

Open Messaging & Delivery → Email

Go to Settings → Messaging & Delivery → Email. Choose Managed Email and start the connect flow.

  2. Step 2In Zyelra

    Add your sending domain

Enter the domain you will send from. Zyelra requests the DNS records required for verification.

  3. Step 3In provider

Add DNS records at your DNS host

In your DNS provider, create the exact TXT / MX / CNAME records Zyelra shows. Copy names and values exactly. For MX, set the Priority shown (usually 10). Keep every email record DNS only — not proxied (in Cloudflare, use the grey cloud).

  4. Step 4In Zyelra

    Verify the domain

Return to Settings → Messaging & Delivery → Email and run verification. Status moves from pending to verified when the provider confirms the records.

  5. Step 5In Zyelra

    Enable inbound (optional)

On the domain card, turn on Enable inbound if you want replies in Zyelra Messaging. You’ll see a warning about existing MX records — prefer a subdomain like inbound.youragency.com if the domain already delivers personal mail. Then add the receiving MX record and Refresh.

  6. Step 6In Zyelra

    Send a test email

Use Test send (or the equivalent test action on the Managed Email card) to a mailbox you control. Confirm delivery and that the From address matches your verified domain.

Verify

  1. Managed Email shows as connected / operational in Settings → Messaging & Delivery → Email.
  2. Domain status is Verified.
  3. A test message arrives and delivery status updates in Messaging.

Troubleshooting

  • DNS still pending — wait for propagation (often minutes, sometimes up to 48 hours), then re-check verification.
  • Wrong record host — some DNS UIs auto-append the root domain; ensure the host matches Zyelra’s instructions exactly.
  • MX priority mismatch — Zyelra shows the required priority (usually 10). A different priority can keep MX verification pending.
  • Proxied records — email CNAME/TXT/MX records must stay DNS only. Turn off CDN/proxy (Cloudflare orange cloud) for those hosts.
  • Test send fails — confirm the From / sender identity uses the verified domain.
  • Never ask support for a Resend API key — Managed Email does not use agency Resend credentials.
